1996, Norman Reid authored a small book "How to Hire
a Contractor Without Getting Ripped Off'" and founded
the Contractor Fraud Alliance, a free informational
service for consumers who have been affected by dishonest
contractors. Reid's book and web site ContractorFraud.net
also serves as an international reference source
to hundreds of public and governmental agencies,
new media and other consumer conscious organizations.
Reid's 40 page guide is and has always been made
available at No Charge to the public, news media,
governmental agencies who need and desire it's contents.
Reid's contractor advice and training insight have
been the feature of nationally syndicated radio show
'Home Improvement USA', been endorsed and speaker
faculty for Clemson University and adjunct professor
for his local community college.

researcher. Reid’s particular expertise
is in post disaster work and
studies in the areas of human
productivity, organizational
efficiency and creative collaboration.
Reid’s most publicized
works are his efforts
to combat post-disaster contractor
fraud.
Norman
has pioneered multidisciplinary programs for private
sector organizations that provide services to post
disaster agencies, governments and private citizens.
Some of which have been offered through colleges
and universities. Norman has also been an instrumental
provider of information helpful to disaster agencies & victims.
Norman
has conducted onsite studies of most major disaster
along the eastern U.S seaboard since the mid eighties,
as well as other significant disasters around the
world. His knowledge of the inner workings of post
disaster work, activity, and human behavior has
led his writings to be featured in publications,
journals and as official agency protocol.
Norman
provides research and organizational consulting
and training to members of the emergency services,
local authorities, voluntary organizations, re-building
industry and private sector services. A solutions
provider for research activities, organizational
structure and PR/Marketing of disaster related
information & services and has spoken internationally
at disaster conferences on his findings.
His
most recent published work in the areas of criminal
/ terrorist disaster stem from is onsite studies
of the 9.11 disaster. His findings were published
in the annual Journal of the American Society of
Professional Emergency Planners and has presented
is 9.1.1 findings to several international audiences
abroad of disaster industry related professionals.

Norman
Reid became a licensed roofing contractor in
Florida at the age of 19, and at the time, was
the youngest
person to ever be licensed in the state. His
roofing company grew to one of the most far reaching
in
the south east with offices from Key Largo to
Charleston SC. Reid sold his roofing company
and is no longer
in the trade.
